Some pictures of my AMSOIL by-pass oil filtration system on my '05 Liberty CRD.
Please note that mine is an older unit and since have been upgraded by AMSOIL Inc. The new filter mounts are
made of billet aluminum and the spin-on adapter is also filter specific and also billet, otherwise the units
function alike. The 45° fittings I used are "old style" and look a bit "cobbled" but they work fine. The new mounts
use a standard JIC hydraulic fitting and 45° angle fittings can be purchased locally if necessary.
I made the mount out of 1"X1/8" steel stock with a piece of 1/8" flat stock to
bolt the filter housing to the mount. The new billet units use 4 bolts for mounting rather than 3 like mine. As you
can see, I had to construct it to mount around the master cylinder reservoir. I was able to use existing bolts on
the firewall to mount the bracket and one vertical leg to the fenderwell for support. I welded the vertical leg and
the mounting plate to the bracket.
I didn't show the adapter that spins onto the oil filter location since this is pretty much straight forward and I
didn't have the time at the moment to climb under the Jeep, remove the skid plate, and take a picture. The oil
supply and return lines connect to the filter adapter and run up the rear of the engine to connect to the dual
